ABOUT CAROL KLOSS

I've passed through a few places along the way to my present work. With a B.A. in art history from the University of Chicago and an M.A. in economics from the University of South Carolina, I’ve served as a medical administration officer in the U.S. Air Force and for eleven years had my own business writing and designing business presentations and publications.
I’ve been on the board of directors for a hospice in Colorado, worked as a nursing home ombudsman in Ohio, and volunteered in nursing homes.

After graduating from the Denver Catholic Biblical School of the Archdiocese of Denver and receiving an M.A. in Theology (Biblical Studies) from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, I managed the Chicago Catholic Scripture School (CCSS) in the Archdiocese of Chicago.

In CCSS, I taught adults for several years, presenting every book of the Bible using the Catholic Biblical School curriculum (Paulist Press). In addition, I taught basic Bible and Old Testament and New Testament introductions to catechists and R.C.I.A. participants.

I also served as a Vicariate Catechetical Coordinator (liason with parish religious education leaders) for the Office for Catechesis and Youth Ministry in the archdiocese.

Currently, I teach in the Biblical Institute of the Diocese of Joliet (Illinois) and serve as Scripture consultant for the diocese. I also teach in the CREEDS Bible study at St. Raphael parish in Naperville, Illinois, and offer other Bible-related presentations at parishes in the Chicago area.

An essay, “Fat,” has been published in three essay collections: Figures of Thought for College Writers, McGraw-Hill, 1999; Surviving Crisis, Jeremy P. Tarcher/Putnam, 1997; Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious: Reflecting American Culture Through Literature and Art, Jeremy P. Tarcher/Putnam, 2003.

“The Psalms: Songs, Poetry, Prayers” appeared in Catholic Woman (2007).
